On The Conniption Fits third album they pull out hooks galore and pop sensibility. This is "radio ready" and is, in fact, on close to 500 stations including major top 40 radio. The lead of track, "The Call" has some great pop rock edgyness while maintaining some interesting turns. "Completely Wasted" makes for a great follow up track with an upbeat tempo and some interesting lyrics. The great guitar hook in the chorus doesn't hurt. There is some interesting chording going on here followed by a knock-out chorus. Track 3, "I Need You" sounds like Maroon 5 meets The Killers or something. This song should be a major hit! "May Day" is a favorite track on the record with some almost Dispatch or Vampire Weekend sounding elements in it. Fantastic lyrics, a 12/8 feel and a complicated / simple contrast. Great song! Track 5 is "Prayed For You" a bit more open, almost U2 meets Phoenix. A solid hook you'll hum in your sleep. "Secrets" is the alt rocker on the album. This one reeks of seattle or at least the 90's. A great song in a darker tone. Punchy and grungy. You know how some bands have records that contain songs that sound very similar? You won't find that here! All of a sudden at track 7 "Wrong To Love You" we find ourselves in electronica / dance territory. One made for the dance floor for sure. On "It's Time Somebody Pays" the band spreads it's wings and dives deeper into trance. This one is almost ethereal and wide open. Sill, it will drive you through your workout or drive home. You can get lost in it. Solid through to the last track, the "deadste3" remix (obviously referencing Deadmua5) and is very electronic sounding, almost dub-step. This album is a pleasure to listen to again and again.
