We are The Conniption Fits
The Conniption Fits is a road tested, hard working New England based band. Performing our own original takes on 80’s, 90’s and Today’s music, you could call us a bonafide “Tribute to Party Rock”! A band that truly brings the party! We bring a "big time concert experience” any venue we perform, including smaller and mid-size venues. We bring a synchronized light show that fits the music, full professional PA, and a whole lot of entertainment.
We stake our reputation on entertaining every crowd, getting people up on their feet, and connecting with the audience. We have performed well over a thousand shows entertaining audiences of all ages. The Conniption Fits is a well oiled machine that will kick start any event, keeping the audience on the dance floor all night long.
The Conniption Fits have been renowned for our unique versions of popular 80's alternative songs as well as our 90's and current pop cover song selections. We seamlessly move from 80’s favs like “Come On Eileen”, “Don’t You Forget About Me”, “Let’s Go Crazy”, “Living On A Prayer” and “Don’t Stop Believing” to 90’s alternative bands like Green Day, Lit, Nine Inch Nails, Rob Zombie and Goo Goo Dolls. We mix in Hip Hop like, “Hot In Here”, "Hey Ya" and our take on modern hits like “Stacy’s Mom”, “Truth Hurts”, “Royals”, “Shut Up & Dance” and “Uptown Funk” round out the night. For a full set list, just ask. We are a crowd favorite among all ages. When it comes to turning heads and getting crowds involved in the show with tons of audience participation, The Conniption Fits are the right band for the job.

I noticed quite some time ago I mix very differently in the studio for a record than I do for a live show. It used to be we lacked the outboard gear to recreate the studio in a live environment, so that was a limitation. Also, so much compression on vocals (and other stuff) live is problematic due to compressed mics hearing themselves and casting awful feedback. Lastly, parallel compression, delays and reverbs in the studio can be very controlled, live we don’t have a traveling engineer with us due to budget constraints, so how to come up with a “one size fits all” solution? Nobody wants to hear delays when you try to speak between songs.
Quarantine produced a variety of reactions from the music community. Some performers polished and completed projects long in progress. Others played nonstop on Facebook Live, while dreaming of an open bar. Some were too busy homeschooling their kids to write songs. And a few made creation a mission — like Stevens Blanchard, who decided to build a new record from scratch.
Each time that Stevens Blanchard has the opportunity to book a gig for his band, The Conniption Fits, he does a delicate mental tally. How many people will be at the gig? Will they be wearing masks and social distancing? How soon is the mortgage due?
