We are excited to release some brand new music this year. “Forms in the Gaslight” is the first single off our new album due out in July.
Forms in the Gaslight was maybe the 8th song we wrote for the new album. It came together rather quickly, everything just seemed to fall into place. I (Stevens) had been listening to a bunch of 80’s retro wave music, specifically GUNSHIP (which you NEED to check out) and I wanted to write a song with a feel along these lines, while still being “us”. I think the specific song that really inspired me was “The Mountian” check it out here. Just goes to show whatever inspires you, roll with it. As for the recording, I laid down the guitars, vocals, keys and arrangement. Then sent it to Jeff who did all the drums at his house. Then back to me, Jamie came over and laid down the bass. I think we’ve discovered a new method of recording partly through the necessity of quarantine, party through efficient use of time. We did the entire album this way. We can’t wait to share the rest of these songs with you! Soon…
